I 've been exploring Toon Boom Harmony rigging and how it integrates with my drawings on paper. Scanned and imported into the program, they became the underdrawing for creating the first pass.

Raw drawings above. I like to keep it rough until I get the desired amount of gesture. In the interest of moving forward, I stopped here and started cleaning them up in the software. I then began creating "sketch lines" on several frames to add energy. Finally I imported it into After Effects to play with camera motion.
The Kid & the Troll.
The troll character is from a parody book I illustrated last year. I intentionally kept the drawing sketchy since it matches the book's illustration style and this sort of look highlights that it is hand drawn. I've been doing these in Toon Boom Harmony. Just having fun learning the software. At some point I'll explore color.
I call this one "An Introduction" This was enjoyable enough that I modified it for my sizzle reel, adding some color and vector shapes to add contrast and emphasis.
The animation below, I call "Troll golf"

Proposed thumbnails and character sketches for an animated vignette on a Harvey Kurtzman Documentary. I hope this happens. I had so much fun exploring it!
